Written and illustrated by Agnès Rosensthiel, Mimi Cracra is more than 250 scenarios between 1975 and 2005. In an interview for FranceCulture in 2017, the author confided the autobiographical aspect of her stories, and said "I am first of all a four-year-old child, with her greed for life". She explains how the little girl has fun with everything and never stops inventing.
