This book, written and illustrated by Anne Villeneuve, is inspired by the life of Kees Vanderheyden, author of La guerre dans ma cour, published by Boréal, and tells the story of his youth under the German occupation. Sometimes funny, sometimes shocking, the book tells the story of this young boy's confrontation with the enemy, who becomes human, and then finally a friend. This book was a finalist for the 2009 Alvine-Bélisle and Boabab awards. It received the 2009 TD Award and the 2010 Marcel-Couture Award.
