Moko and Totémi stay by the lake for a while. One morning, a huge noise disturbs the village. A giant mudslide comes down the mountainside and threatens to engulf the village. Moko walks towards the mudslide, begging the mountain to spare the village. He remembers Meï-Li, who knew how to talk to the mountain. He takes the precious stone she gave him out of his pocket and prepares to offer it as Meï-Li did at the edge of the volcano. But Totémi stops him and offers him the necklace she wears around her neck. The mountain spares the village and the mud pours into the lake. Moko promises to one day give Totémi the most precious thing he has...
