This wise tale introduces Sophie, a little girl who loves to draw. Some time after the death of her old Uncle Tom, Sophie loses a precious object. Or has someone stolen her shining glass shard, a gift from her friend Emilio? With the help of Emilio and the soul of Tom, Sophie investigates with the cats and crows that live around the house. Thanks to the sensitive songs and illustrations that accompany the story, the little ones discover that the treasures of the heart can be found in the smallest gift. This book is a subtle approach to the theme of death, which is sometimes difficult to explain to children. This book was the winner of the 2017 Charles-Cros Children's Choice Award and received the 2008 TD Canadian Children's Literature Award.
