Caillou tries new foods
Mommy is worried. Caillou hasn’t been eating well for a few days. Just a few mouthfuls at every meal. Caillou sits down at the table and says, “I’m not hungry.”
Mommy has made a delicious meal today. Chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Caillou says, “I don’t like broccoli.”
“If you don’t want the broccoli, you don’t have to eat it,” Mommy says. “But you could try a little bite. Just a taste.” Caillou says, “I don’t want to.”
After the meal, Caillou plays with his trucks. He’s very busy. Mommy asks him to go shopping with her. She shows Caillou a shopping bag.
“This will be your very own bag. You can put the food you want in it.” Caillou likes the idea. He wants to go shopping with Mommy. He’s proud that he’ll be able to choose his own food.
When they get to the grocery store, Caillou sees some cheese. He loves cheese! He puts it into his bag. “Remember how much you disliked cheese when you were little?” Mommy asks him. “Your tastes have changed.”
