Caillou I can do it myself
Daddy has come to pick Caillou up at day care. Caillou is sitting on the floor, concentrating hard. He’s trying to put his shoes on. “Hello, my sweet Caillou! I see that you want to do that all by yourself,” Daddy says.
Caillou looks up and sees Daddy. He wants to show Daddy that he knows how to put his shoes on. “Try again!” Daddy says.
Caillou pushes as hard as he can. He just can’t get his foot into his shoe. He’s getting really frustrated. Daddy tells him, “I know it’s really hard. Take your time. Easy does it.” Daddy gives Caillou an encouraging smile.
Caillou tries again. Finally his foot slides into the shoe. He’s very proud of himself. “Well done, Caillou! You did it this time,” Daddy says.
There is a little girl trying to put her coat on. Her mother comes in. “I’m in a hurry, little one. Let me do it, or else we’ll be late.” The girl goes to her mother with tears in her eyes. She puts her arms around her mother’s neck.
