Monica Mouse and the moon Jade Bérubé Pierre Dutil Denis Fecteau
Monica Mouse was frustrated. Extremely frustrated. “Why do I have to go to bed every single night?” she grumbled. “So you’re not tired the next day,” her mother explained. Monica Mouse frowned. “But I can’t fall asleep. I’ll NEVER fall asleep!” she wailed. “Look, the moon is out,” her mother said. “That means it’s time for bed.”
Monica Mouse was furious. “This is all the moon’s fault!” she thought crossly. “I wish it would just disappear. That way, I’d never have to go to bed ever again!” All of a sudden, Monica Mouse shot straight up. She had an idea: “All I have to do is tell the moon to go away. That would solve everything!” She bolted out of her bed.
Monica Mouse dashed under a magnolia bush. “Hey there!” cried Kolby Koala, who was putting his pyjamas on. “Where are you going?” Monica Mouse exclaimed, “I’m going to tell the moon to go away. I’m not tired and I can’t sleep anyway!” “Okey-dokey!” replied Kolby Koala. “I’m not sleepy either. I’ll go with you.”
