Caillou I can brush my teeth
Mommy brushes Caillou’s teeth every morning and every night. She uses a blue brush and sparkly toothpaste. Sometimes Mommy tells Caillou, “Spit, please.” Caillou loves to spit. The sink gets full of sparkles.
Round and round. Mommy moves the brush in little circles around his mouth. Brushing his teeth takes a very long time. Caillou moves his little car around the edge of the sink. “Hold still, Caillou. I’m almost done.”
One day after breakfast, Daddy says, “Let’s go brush our teeth.” “I can brush my teeth,” Caillou insists. “I’m not a baby.” “That’s true, Caillou. You are growing up.”
“I’ll brush my teeth, and you brush yours,” Daddy says. Caillou is happy to be brushing his teeth by himself. Daddy gives Caillou his toothbrush with some sparkly toothpaste on it. “It tastes good,” Caillou says.
Caillou brushes his front teeth. Little circles round and round. He looks in the mirror and sees Daddy doing the same thing. Next, he brushes the back teeth. It’s hard to reach them. He moves his brush from side to side.
