Little Panda sees red Marie-Noëlle Gagnon - Mathieu Giguère
There are days I can’t help it: I feel it in my head. I simply can’t stop myself from seeing red.
Red like the blood that dripped down from my nose when I was hit with a ball. It got all over my clothes!
The other kids laughed at me and made me feel small. My face turned beet red – I didn’t like that at all!
No wonder it’s red that makes bulls lose their cool, or why it makes cars stop when I’m walking to school.
But whenever I’m angry or embarrassed or sad, my mommy is there so I don’t feel so bad.
She says, “Without red, we wouldn’t have cherries, or other sweet fruit, like your favourite: berries!”
If we didn’t have red, what would Santa Claus wear? He can’t slide down chimneys in his underwear!
Red is the colour that fire trucks use to let everyone know there’s no time to lose.
A big box of chocolates with a red heart I designed is how I showed Mila she’s one of a kind.
As I chew on some licorice, I decide once and for all: red isn’t so bad – in fact, it’s a ball!
