These are lions. Lions live mostly in Africa.
This is a boy lion. This is a girl lion. A girl lion is also called a lioness.
Can you tell which lion is a boy and which lion is a girl?
Sometimes a lion will roar. It is very loud. It can be heard for miles.
Most lions live in small groups. The group of lions is called a pride.
A pride has lions, and lionesses, and cubs. The cubs are the baby lions. Sometimes cubs will play.
Lions hunt for their food.
Lions are very fast. This helps them be good hunters.
Lions have big teeth. This helps them be good hunters.
Hunting must be very hard, because lions rest about 20 hours a day!
When lions rest they sometimes rub heads and lick each other. This is being friendly.
