The angry wave
The rain had fallen for many days and nights throughout the land. On this particular morning, Meï-Li's village finally woke up to a bright sun-shiny day.
Moko had gone down to the beach and was enjoying the calming water, letting himself be rocked by the gentle waves.
Meï-Li arrived at the beach. Feel like going fishing with me? She asked Moko. Climbed onboard a boat that had a sail shaped like the sun.
Once they were out at sea, Moko threw out the net. The sun's rays glimmered on the water's surface in a thousand tiny reflections. All was calm and peaceful.
Suddenly, Moko spotted what looked like a big hill further out at sea... Look, said Moko, there's something strange out there. Hurry, let's head back in, said Meï-Li. It's a giant wave! It's going to swallow us up… The hill of water was growing, little by little, becoming a giant mountain of water, and it was headed straight for their boat!
