For all stories, there are activities to help children check their understanding of the story.
These include mixed pictures and mixed texts.
- When you are on a story page, click on the « Activities » tab. This will show you the different activities available for that story. All you have to do is select the one you want!
Mixed pictures
The mixed pictures allow a first approach to reading for a child who is not yet able to read or who is just beginning to learn how to read. The aim is to put the pictures in the chronological order in which they appear in the story. This activity uses visual memory and calls on the child to follow a logical sequence of events.
- Once you have selected this activity, all you have to do is put the pictures back in the right order by dragging them with the computer mouse, or your finger if you are on a tablet. The leftmost is the first in the chronological order of the story and the rightmost is the last in the chronological order of the story.
- Once you think you have made the right choice, click on the button « Validate » and the result appears.
Mixed texts
The mixed texts allow a child who is learning to read or is a good reader to put the texts in chronological order of appearance in the story. This activity uses memory and encourages the child to follow a logical sequence of events. It is particularly appreciated when the child learns the different stages that make up a story: initial situation, adventures, solution, etc.
- Once you have selected this activity, all you have to do is put the texts in the right order by dragging them with the computer mouse, or your finger if you are on a tablet. The leftmost is the first in the chronological order of the story and the rightmost is the last in the chronological order of the story.
- Once you think you have made the right choice, click on the button « Validate » and the result appears.
