Ever-changing land
The warmth of spring had returned and nature was waking, each day more beautiful, flooding the land with colour. Alarick was looking at the horizon, his heart filled with sadness. This good weather urges you to travel, Moko. You must continue your journey. You promised your friend you'd find the edge of the world! Moko was surprised. It had all but skipped his mind entirely. Now that the cold has finally gone, I can stay and enjoy these beautiful days for as long as I like, said Moko. Then suddenly Moko realised that Alarik wasn't there any more. Moko followed the path along the river, hoping to find him.
He came across an old man: if you are looking for your friend, you should know that he is preparing your upcoming journey... No, I want to stay, it's not time yet, said Moko as he continued walking. The old man's voice rang out from behind him: then enjoy the warmth, my boy. Because the cold will return one day!
As he walked, Moko studied the land around him, the sky, the earth, the sun, the moon, and the leaves as they danced in the wind like feathers. The days passed. One morning, the cold returned again, accompanied by snow.
Alarick appeared with a bag, filled with fruit, bread and fish. But how will I leave now? asked Moko. Look at what the sea has sent for you this morning, answered Alarick. Moko recognized the canoe he had once used to cross the ocean. Alarick handed him his flute. . Here, he said. When you have this flute with you, it is as if I were with you as well. When I have found the edge of the world, I will play your flute so loudly that you will hear me and you will know how to find me, promised Moko. He hugged his friend hh tightly.
