The missing sun
One day, the sun was shining down in a cloudless sky.
Moko, tired out from the heat, rested on the branch of a big old tree.
Suddenly, the day grew dark, and little by little, the sun started to vanish, as if a large dark disc had crossed the sky and erased it.
Frightened, Moko ran to see his friend, the old wise man. "What's happening?" asked Moko. "Why did the sun suddenly vanish in the middle of the day?" "I truly don't know," answered the man. "Let's go and visit the neighboring villages." "Surely there'll be someone who can give us an answer…"
And so they set forth. Moko was sure that the sun's disappearance was the work of a magician.
They travelled to several villages. Everyone was surprised and frightened by the "night" that suddenly appeared in the middle of the day. But no one really knew what had happened.
