The rainy season
One morning, the sky was thick with clouds. A storm rumbled somewhere off in the distance, and Moko sensed that the rains would soon reach his village.
The first few drops started coming down. "It's as if the clouds are sad, and they're crying on the village," He said to himself. Moko headed to the village elder's house.
"Why are the clouds so sad that they cry every year on our village?" Moko asked him. "It's the rainy season," answered the elder. "Wait until it ends, and you'll understand."
The days passed, and the rain kept on falling. The water flooded the fields and overflowed the river. People stayed in their homes, animals hid in the forest, and Moko waited patiently…
One morning, the sun finally returned, and the last clouds drifted to the horizon. The elder passed in front of Moko, and the young boy said to him: "The sun has returned!" "Is it because it went away that the clouds were sad?" "No, my young friend, the true answer lies in the fields."
