Moko's canoe was gliding along calmly in the middle of a sea of frozen rocks. As night fell, the cold became more intense.
Suddenly, Moko heard a terrifying sound, as if the hull of his boat was cracking. Ice appeared and was preventing him from moving forward. The wind picked up and it began to snow. Please, ocean, protect me from the ice and the wind and carry me to the edge of the world, he cried out into the night.
Moko thought to himself that perhaps this time the sea could do nothing to help him. He huddled down in the hull of his boat and waited for daylight to return.
By morning, ice was still all around him and it stretched out as far as the eye could see. With a tired heart, he picked up his friend's flute and played it as best he could. As if by magic, the flute fell in tune with the wind and began to play a beautiful song. Moko closed his eyes and played for such a long time that he didn't notice the ice slowly melting and his boat moving forward. Little by little, the wind was pushing his canoe along into a radiant sunlit day,
