The hidden spring
One hot, sunny afternoon, Moko was so thirsty that he felt he could drink the whole river.
But when he arrived at the riverbank, he got the surprise of his life. The river had dried up! All that was left were a few puddles and some patches of mud.
"Somebody emptied our river!" Moko said to himself. Moko was very upset.
The sun was getting hotter and hotter, and Moko was getting thirstier and thirstier. Moko noticed a man, walking, and holding a strange stick. Moko went up to him. "Do you see what happened to our river? " "Yes young man, and it's for that very reason that I'm searching here." "Follow me, and you'll understand."
The man pointed his strange stick in front of him, walked, and concentrated. Moko followed him.
Suddenly, the man stopped and said: "Here. We must dig here…" Moko started digging into the ground. And as if by a miracle, water suddenly started to gush out. "Amazing!" cried out Moko. "How did you do that?" [laugh] "I'm what they call a diviner." "With my stick, I ask Mother earth - and she tells me where the water is hiding!"
